Ian Andrews Fraud Protecting Against Financial Fraud

Published by:

No matter how many technological advances we made through the years, fraud will always be around. People are smart, but still do stupid things. If someone wants it bad enough, they will find their way around the advanced security.

The sad truth is that there is financial fraud that is becoming a growing problem around the world. You may believe that with as much technology we have, fraud would be more difficult to happen, but on the contrary, advances in communications technology are to blame for the financial fraud increase.

Now that we have identified the problem, what is the solution? For one thing, always check for the “s”. When entering personal information, such as a passwords or anything you wouldn’t want someone to steal from you, make sure the address of the website begins with “https”. The “s” stands for “secure” and any information you share with that site is protected. Beside the “https” you should also see a padlock to the left.

Another tip to protect your data is to ensure your anti-virus software is up to date. The anti-virus is what keeps your system healthy and protected from nasties of the cyber world every time you are online. In fact, you don’t even have to be actively using the internet to catch a virus or a hacker. Simply being connected is all it takes. The same ruling applies to your web browser.
